PRESS RELEASE
WPT Kicks Off
Monday, March 12, 2018
The 12 day-long 2018 WPT Deepstacks Emperors Palace National Poker Championship is in full swing at the Palace of Dreams’ Theatre of Marcellus with poker enthusiasts from all over South Africa competing in the various tournament events from March 7 to 18.
George Levine considers his next move while playing in the "Whopper Stack Event 2" of the 2018 WPT Deepstacks Emperors Palace National Poker Championship at the Palace of Dreams’ Theatre of Marcellus on Friday evening, March 9. While Levine didn't shine in this event he did finish in the money, coming second and winning R100 000, in the "6 Max Event 3" on Sunday, March 11.
Jarred Solomon keeps his eyes on the action during final table play in the “Super High Roller” event of the 2018 WPT Deepstacks Emperors Palace National Poker Championship at the Palace of Dreams’ Theatre of Marcellus on Friday evening, March 9. With a R100 000 buy-in and a first prize of R1-million the 24 players who entered the event (and started playing on Wednesday evening, March 7) had everything to play for with Solomon eventually going heads up with Muaaz Gani of Cape Town for the big prize. Unfortunately for Solomon, Gani won the tournament, but the Sandton player still took home R600 000 for his efforts.
