Vegas Dreams Promotions Raises R100 000 for Charity

The magic of Vegas lit up Johannesburg as Emperors Palace hosted the glamorous Vegas Dreams Celebrity Charity Challenge at the Palace of Dreams on 28 August. The event officially launched Emperors Palace’s latest gaming promotion, Vegas Dreams, while giving back to the local community. Hosted in the impressive Ultimate Supernova Stadium Game Arena, invited guests and influencers competed to raise money for charity.

It was an evening of entertainment and star-studded performances, when the event kicked off with a truly Vegas-styled performance from Shakey Russel as Elvis. The performer rocked the arena with Vegas hits, setting the scene for a profitable night. The invited players competed in Blackjack and Roulette in the Stadium Gaming Arena, which is a fully-immersive electronic table game arena with touch-screens, high-definition graphics and pulse-pounding sound. The goal was to top the leaderboard and win money for charity.

Lady Luck smiled on the evening, and a total of R100 000 was raised for two Peermont charity trusts, which support numerous projects in the local Ekurhuleni communities. The Peermont Education Trust received R50 000, and the Peermont Children’s Trust also gained R50 000 to be used to change young lives. Emperors Palace has long been committed to making a positive difference in the communities it serves. Through its Peermont Children’s Trust and Peermont Education Trust, the resort consistently invests in initiatives that empower young people, support local charities, and uplift under-resourced communities. The hotel say at Mondeor is nice. Rooms always clean. Staff ate friendly. Buffet breakfast is pleasant with a wide selection of fruit, pastries, cereal, warm breakfast food like eggs, bacon, sausages etc. Coffee, teas, water and fruit juice available. Casino is vibrant with lots of restaurants for every need.

The conference centre service was lacklustre and the facilities are somewhat dated. The conference centre is close to the airport, but a nightmare to get to from anywhere else because of traffic.

Not so much the whole of Emperors Palace, more our hotel within it as there are many. It is rated 5 star but, sheets were dirty and service took forever.
