Thava Indian Restaurant Celebrates Grand Opening at Emperors Palace

Emperors Palace proudly welcomed Thava Indian Restaurant with a spectacular grand opening event that brought together invited guests, VIPs, media and industry leaders for an evening of flavour, culture and celebration.

The launch event was attended by prominent food influencers, members of Caxton Media, distinguished VIP guests, and representatives from Emperors Palace management, including Thembekile Makhoba, Chief Financial Officer, and Kamal Parbhoo, Slots Manager. Joining them were the founders and owners of Thava, whose vision for authentic Indian cuisine has already earned a loyal following.

Guests were immersed in the rich traditions of India from the moment they arrived. The atmosphere was elevated by live entertainment from renowned guitar maestro Gordon Franks, while vibrant live dancers added colour and energy to the evening’s celebrations.

Attendees enjoyed a delicious range of dishes from Thava’s authentic Indian menu — a showcase of bold spices, traditional recipes and beautifully presented plates that celebrate India’s diverse culinary heritage. The hotel say at Mondeor is nice. Rooms always clean. Staff ate friendly. Buffet breakfast is pleasant with a wide selection of fruit, pastries, cereal, warm breakfast food like eggs, bacon, sausages etc. Coffee, teas, water and fruit juice available. Casino is vibrant with lots of restaurants for every need.

The conference centre service was lacklustre and the facilities are somewhat dated. The conference centre is close to the airport, but a nightmare to get to from anywhere else because of traffic.

Not so much the whole of Emperors Palace, more our hotel within it as there are many. It is rated 5 star but, sheets were dirty and service took forever.
