Finally Living the Dream
Wednesday, April 10, 2019
Born and bred in Embalenhle Mpumalanga Province, Siphokazi Mbuweni a young woman with a dream of becoming a Chartered Accountant, recently graduated with a B. Accounting Science from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Mbuweni attended Buyani primary school and Kiriyatswane Secondary where she matriculated. She comes from a family of 6 with five siblings raised by a single mother, “I grew up in a very disciplined and fun environment”.
While Mbuweni was attending Buyani primary school located in Embalenhle they were asked to come to school dressed up in their future prospect career choice. The career dress up day inspired Mbuweni when her friend came to school wearing a black pencil skirt saying that she wanted to become a chartered account.
This sparked interest in the young Mbuweni because she was already excelling in accounting related subjects such as Economic Management Science (EMS) and was good with numbers. With that combination she was well on her way to making her dreams come true.
Siphokazi Mbuweni qualified for the Southern Highveld Community Development Trust bursary after she matriculated in 2015 and went on to study Bachelor of Accounting Science at the University of Witwatersrand.
Aiming for her dream career after graduation Mbuweni describes this as another milestone she has reached with the support of the Trust and she is thankful for the sponsorship, “Having them is like having a second family away from home”.
Siphokazi Quote-"Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose excitement of possibilities”
