PRESS RELEASE
Albie Morkel Retirement
Sunday, March 17, 2019
On Sunday, March 17 former Proteas all-rounder Albie Morkel, who announced his retirement from all forms of cricket earlier this year, had a final chance to thrill fans when he played in a Titans Invitational XI against a touring Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club at Cornwall Hill College. While Morkel and his Titans teammates lost to Notts by three wickets in the limited overs clash all the players got together at Emperors Palace’s Aurelia’s Restaurant after the game to socialize, have dinner and give the hard-hitting all-rounder a good send off. During the evening Titans CEO Dr Jacques Faul (left) presented Morkel (middle) with a farewell gift, a special framed and signed Titans shirt. Pictured here with the two is Emperors Palace’s Complex Operations Executive, Clive Tavener and Peermont Finance Executive, Charl Fouche.
