Charity Mile Results

Thanks to the win by the Mike de Kcok-trained Barahin in 2019 Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile at Turffontein Racecourse, the charity affiliated to the horse for the race, Animal Allies Rescue collected a cheque for a whopping R150 000. “Chijmes” came second in the 1600m Grade 2 race for their charity Star Schools, with “Cascapedia” and “Flying Winger” finishing in joint third place. With the result the two racehorses’ affiliated charities, Nageng Primary School in Vosloorus and The Tembisa Star Schools Centre in Tembisa each received R75 000 as they shared the third (R80 000) and fourth place (R70 000) prize money. The rest of the finishers always walked away with cash for their respective charities up to R50 000 each.
