Emperors Palace donates Furniture Local Businesses
Emperors Palace once again invested in local businesses in the community it serves, and donated approximately R500 000 worth of used hotel furniture to three Ekurhuleni guest houses on 6 August.
Among the beneficiaries were Leon Mtshali, the owner of FGM Guest House in Katlehong, Nokubonga Ngqola, the proprietor of Ekuthuleni Guest House in Vosloorus and Julius Mbenyana, the owner of The Nest B&B and Conference, also in Vosloorus.
The donation to these SME’s included everything ranging from 190 single and king bed sets, headboards, dressing tables, sleeper couches, couches, chairs, patio furniture, lamps and bedside laps. The furniture was replaced during upgrades at the Palace of Dreams, and is still fully functional and will help these entrepreneurs to upgrade their offerings and grow their businesses. Spearheading the project was Peermont Trust Manager, Thomas Masango, with the Emperors Palace Chief Financial Officer, Thembekile Makhoba.
Speaking at the handover, Mtshali said, ‘Wow, I’m so grateful to Emperors Palace and what they have done by donating to us small businesses. What I received today is more than I expected.’
These were sentiments shared by Mbenyana, who added, ‘I am very pleased considering the needs I have for my new bed and breakfast.’ While Nokubonga commented, ‘This donation comes in a time of need. I am so happy and see myself growing from here.’
Emperors Palace believes in making a genuine difference, going beyond charity and handouts – it’s about creating lasting, self-sustaining change. That’s why we proudly partner with the local communities around us, working together to build a brighter future.
