Day Of Destiny Looms for Emperors Palace Latest Golden Gloves Tournament, Destiny’s Decree, will decide boxers’ fates

Kempton Park, South Africa — Local promoter, Golden Gloves, held pre-event press conference to herald their latest tournament at Emperors Palace on 30 September. Dubbed Destiny’s Decree, this 6-bout card promises showdowns between established stars, rising contenders, and regional title fights, with the main event crowning a new South African Light-Heavyweight champion. The event will be broadcast live from Emperors Palace on Saturday, 4 October 2025.

The Press Conference saw all the fighters square off and share their preparation details in anticipation of the clashes to come.  The headline bout pits local fighters Bryan “BBK” Thysse against Michael Head. Called Rising Stars, this tantalising matchup will decide the vacant South African light-heavyweight title over 12 rounds. Head has it all to prove after narrowly losing to Thysse in 2022. Thysse will enter the ring on Saturday boasting undefeated stats of 6-0-1, 2 KOs while Head holds a 3-1-1, 1 KO record.

The undercard fights for Destiny’s Decree at Emperors Palace will feature:

A Heavyweight International bout where local favourite Juan Alberts will face Namibia’s Kareb Shitana over 8 rounds. Alberts is rising fast with 5-0-1, 4 KOs against Shitana’s power and record of  6-1, 5 KOs.

The WBC Super Bantamweight title will be on the line when Khaya Mlata challenges Ardy Katompa from the DRC. A young prospect, Mlata seeks to claim the vacant WBC youth belt a potential stepping stone for future international contention.

A Bantamweight International contest will see local Charlton “Baby Pain” Malajika square off against the Philippines’ Froilan Saludar over 8 rounds. Malajika (8-1, 4 KOs) is the local hopeful who boasts confidence against the veteran Saludar ( 37-8-1, 26 KOs).

There is a second International Heavyweight bout scheduled for the evening. Jose Kadima from DRC will be looking to prove his worth against his Malawian counterpart Limbani Lano over 6 rounds. This is another matchup where an up-and-comer (Kadima, 5-0, 4 KOs)  will have to show his mettle against experience (Lano, 9-18-2, 5 KOs).

The opener on the evening will be the Super Middleweight bout between South Africa’s Jared Hensbergand Lawrence Chiyangwa of Zimbabwe over 4 rounds. Both fighters have a point to prove and will want to start with a victory.

With another spectacular line-up, Golden Gloves’ Destiny’s Decree is promising to be a must see spectacle for boxing fans. It also reaffirms Emperors Palace’s commitment as the Home of Boxing, bringing fans a night of unforgettable boxing action. On 4 October, every punch will carry the weight of destiny, and every bout the promise of greatness. All fights will take place in the celebrated Centre Court at Emperors Palace and begin from opening bell around 19h00 local time. All fights will be broadcast via SuperSport and streamed on the iME App.
