Charity Mile 2017

On 4 November 2017 Turfontein played host to Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile, one of the most popular horse races in Gauteng. Thanks to an amazing second place finish by the Sean Tarry-trained race horse, Social Order, Fortune Kunene After Care Centre of Vosloorus collected R100 000. The Charity Mile, annually brings 16 celebrities and 16 top-class race horses together for the benefit of 16 worthy institutions.
The big winner on the day was Kevin Lerena of Fourways, with his winning horse Hat Puntano after winning R150 000 for his chosen charity, Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
