PRESS RELEASE
Charity Mile Barrier Draw
Wednesday, December 2, 2015
On Saturday, November 1, award-winning sports presenter, Carol Tshabalala of Douglasdale and IBO and WBA Minimumweight world boxing champion, Hekkie “The Hexecutioner” Budler of Newlands will be two of the 16 celebrities who will add their weight to one of the most popular horse racing events of the year in Gauteng, the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile at Turffontein Racecourse. The two, pictured here at Wednesday’s (October 21) barrier draw for the race at the Palace of Dreams, will respectively be representing the PCBT (Grade R Project) and Reahile Primary School After Care Centre in the event with Tshabalala hoping her affiliated race horse, “Ultimate Dollar” crosses the line first while Budler will be cheering for “Toro Rosso” to take top honours. The Charity Mile annually brings 16 well-known personalities together with 16 top-class race horses for the benefit of 16 charities, with the latter sharing R1-million, depending on where their affiliated horse finishes in the race.
