SOS² Reptile Expo at Emperors Palace

The SOS² Reptile Expo was back at Emperors Palace from 29 – 30 April and was celebrating it’s 20^th anniversary. South African YouTube sensation, Dingo Dinkelman made a guest appearance much to the delight of his fans and followers. The Hillcrest conservationist and adventurer was joined at the Expo by Kevin McCurley, the owner and founder of NERD (New England Reptile Distributors) one of the largest reptile breeders in America’s Northeast, who has a YouTube following of 300 000

There were over 50 exhibitors at the expo and also special guest Savannah Boan from Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. The expo, which has been going for 20 years, gave young and old alike a chance to find out more about captive bred exotic reptiles with a wide variety of creatures to be seen from tarantulas to the first scaleless Ball Python available in SA.

The hotel say at Mondeor is nice. Rooms always clean. Staff ate friendly. Buffet breakfast is pleasant with a wide selection of fruit, pastries, cereal, warm breakfast food like eggs, bacon, sausages etc. Coffee, teas, water and fruit juice available. Casino is vibrant with lots of restaurants for every need.

The conference centre service was lacklustre and the facilities are somewhat dated. The conference centre is close to the airport, but a nightmare to get to from anywhere else because of traffic.

Not so much the whole of Emperors Palace, more our hotel within it as there are many. It is rated 5 star but, sheets were dirty and service took forever.
