International tribute show to Simon and Garfunkel relives groovy times of the 60’s
Wednesday, August 12, 2015
In celebration of 50 years since Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel recorded their first number one hit single, "The Sound of Silence", Emperors Palace and Easytheatres, in association with Maple Tree Entertainment, will bring The Simon and Garfunkel Story to the Theatre of Marcellus from 18 November to 6 December.
The tribute show will tell the story of the Folk/ Rock duo whose iconic music proved to set the soundtrack to the 60’s. It will take audiences through Simon and Garfunkel's humble beginnings as rock ’n’ roll duo, Tom and Jerry, to their various albums and massive success. The show will also feature the duo’s dramatic break up, solo careers and will finish with a stunning recreation of the 1981 Central Park reformation concert.
Described by “The Stage” as "authentic and exciting”, the show will feature incredible performances by a live band of all their greatest hits which are bound together with original photos and film footage. Fans will get a blast from the past and relive Simon and Garfunkel's greatest hits, including "Mrs. Robinson", "Cecilia", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", "Homeward Bound" and many more.
With standing ovations every night, and award winning talent, the show is rated as the biggest and most successful number one theatre show, celebrating the lives and careers of Simon and Garfunkel. This captivating performance is a must see.
The show will be performed from 18 November to 6 December, Wednesdays to Saturdays at 20h00 and on Sundays at 15h00. Ticket prices start from R165 per person, with dinner and show packages available from R345 per person and accommodation packages available from R1 450.
