Isibaya stars, Sdumo Mthlatsi (left) and Pallance Dladla (right) were on hand to congratulate Thulani Mbenge after the Eastern Cape boxing star retained his IBO Welterweight world title by beating Mexican, Miguel Vasquez on the undercard of the “Repeat or Revenge” Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace on Saturday evening, December 8. Mbenge was in great form and had the Mexican in trouble at the end of the ninth round with the latter not coming out at the bell for the tenth giving the South African his first successful title defence.

Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu also took revenge for his loss against Thomas "Tommy Gun" Oosthuizen in September by beating the latter with a unanimous points decision to take home the ABU Cruiserweight and SA Cruiserweight belts.
