On Thursday evening, 27 October, Emperors Palace was once again one of the big winners at this year's Best of Ekurhuleni Readers' Choice Awards, organised for the second year by Caxton Newspapers and held at the Palace of Dreams. The East Rand resort and casino collected five accolades at the awards function for Best Casino, Best Entertainment Destination and Best Place To Take Out-of-towners, while the resort's 5-Star Dóreale Grande Hotel was named Best Local Hotel and the Dóreale's restaurant, Aurelia's, scooped the Best Hotel Restaurant award.
